SerialWare Advanced
The SerialWare Advanced product was designed for those who want a LOT more control over their devices. First, it allows for unlimited serial connections. Most hardware-based options will limit you to 5 or maybe 8 serial ports. However, because our solutions are software-based, we are not limited to how many COM ports you desire. Simply plug in any basic USB-Serial adapter and add another COM port.
This means you can control multiple devices with a single control panel. In fact, you can create multiple control panels, one for each device, and link them all together (see article How to Link Multiple Control Panels). This is because you have complete control over the buttons and actions in the control panel. Unlike our Basic product, this solution allows you not only to configure the look and feel (image, text, size) of the button, but also allows you to configure multiple actions for each button.
The SerialWare Advanced product is also the perfect solution for more sophisticated classroom settings, such as a distance education room which has multiple projectors, cameras, document camera, computer, DVD player, and whiteboard. When you need to be able to control multiple devices through a single interface, this is your answer.
For example, create a single button that turns on my projector, sets the input to HDMI lowers my motorized projector screen, and turns on my DVD player. This is 4 signals sent to 3 devices all with a single button-click!
The SerialWare Builder allows you to quickly, and easily configure you COM ports and create your desired buttons. No programming skills are necessary. Simply create a button, drag it to your desired location in the control panel, and configure the properties and actions of the button. Repeat for each button. When done, generate the installer and you are ready to take complete control over all your devices.
